“Assisted Suicide: Siren Song and Trojan Horse”

        Jamie Towey is President of Aging with Dignity, a national nonprofit based in Tallahassee and the nation’s leading advocate for protecting human rights and bringing comfort to people near the end of life.

Aging with Dignity’s Five Wishes advance care planning program has touched the lives of 44 million individuals and their families and trains approximately 15,000 healthcare practitioners each year. The organization’s Assisted Suicide Watch research project monitors the use of physician-assisted suicide in America.

Jamie directs Aging with Dignity’s advocacy and fundraising efforts. His writing has been featured in The Hill, and he regularly publishes his “Jamie’s Corner” column on Aging with Dignity’s website. He has appeared on EWTN and other programs and has been interviewed by The Washington Post, Catholic Vote, and The National Catholic Reporter. He is also a member of the Virginia Alzheimer’s Commission.

        Before joining Aging with Dignity, Jamie worked as a consultant at a Big Four firm and, prior to that, served with the FBI. He holds an MBA from Oxford University and a BA in Arabic and Chinese from the University of Notre Dame. Jamie and his wife, Carolyn, have been married for 10 years and are raising their three sons in Northern Virginia.
