First Communion

Dear St Agnes Families,

The public celebration of the Mass and all K-12 Faith Formation classes, Youth Group, Sacrament Preparation, events, and activities are canceled until further notice. Therefore, the celebration of First Communion is delayed until late summer/early fall; see below for the plan. Please watch our homepage and your email for updates.

  • Click here  to see the plan for completing this year of Family Faith Formation
  • Drop off your completed blue Signs of Grace First Communion book to the parish office by May 31. Once we receive your book, we hope to let you know via email within 2 weeks if anything is still pending for your year of family faith formation to be completed. Then, we will send a complete/incomplete postcard to you in June.
  • We will stay in touch about developing plans for a great and much anticipated celebration of First Communion in the late summer/early fall. We will have one class just before the big day to do the exam, review of the Mass, and rehearsal – so keep studying your Study Guide.
  • Registration for 2020-21 will be available soon.

If you have any questions, please contact the office at 239-592-1949. We are here for you. Please let us know how we can support you and your family during this time. Stay safe as we hold each other in prayer. As soon as we have more information, we will update this page.

Students must attend at least 2 consecutive years of Faith Formation (Faith Formation for Families Program, Youth Group, Catholic School, or Homeschool) as part of their Sacrament Preparation. At the beginning of year 2, in addition to Faith Formation class, they attend an additional Sacrament Preparation class by age group (must be at least age 7). Classes are held September-April and meet approximately once a month. Parents must attend all classes with their child. First Reconciliation is celebrated in January prior to First Communion, which is celebrated in the spring. After the celebration of the Sacraments, catechesis and ongoing conversion continues through continued participation in Faith Formation for Families and Youth Group.

Parents of Non-Baptized school-aged children should make an appointment with the Director of Faith Formation before the deadline to formulate a specific plan for the sacramental needs of your family.

Registration for Sacramental Preparation is included in registration for Faith Formation and Youth Group. Only Catholic School and Homeschool students should fill out a separate Registration Form.
