First Communion

Dear St Agnes Families,

Bishop Frank Dewane has suspended the public celebration of Masses from March 20 until after Easter – April 12. All K-12 Faith Formation classes, Youth Group, Sacrament Preparation, events, and activities are canceled. The office will remain open Monday-Friday from 9 am-4 pm. Please see our recent email for details.

Since this cancelation includes the next Family Faith Formation event – the Passion of the Cross on April 11 – here is the plan:

  1. Pray the Way of the Cross with your family, preferably on Good Friday. Here is an excellent version for families with young children: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KoQR30np5us
  2. Give your Rice Bowl donation at crsricebowl.org or wait and bring your Rice Bowl to the office or our next event (whenever that may be).
  3. Keep up to date with the chapter assignments in the Be My Disciples/Great Adventure/Faith Fusion book; we will let you know when that will be checked as soon as we know.

Looking for more ways to grow in the Faith during these difficult times?

  • Further information, updates, live streaming of the Mass, and online giving are available at www.stagnesnaples.org.

Students must attend at least 2 consecutive years of Faith Formation (Faith Formation for Families Program, Youth Group, Catholic School, or Homeschool) as part of their Sacrament Preparation. At the beginning of year 2, in addition to Faith Formation class, they attend an additional Sacrament Preparation class by age group (must be at least age 7). Classes are held September-April and meet approximately once a month. Parents must attend all classes with their child. First Reconciliation is celebrated in January prior to First Communion, which is celebrated in the spring. After the celebration of the Sacraments, catechesis and ongoing conversion continues through continued participation in Faith Formation for Families and Youth Group.

Parents of Non-Baptized school-aged children should make an appointment with the Director of Faith Formation before the deadline to formulate a specific plan for the sacramental needs of your family.

Registration for Sacramental Preparation is included in registration for Faith Formation and Youth Group. Only Catholic School and Homeschool students should fill out a separate Registration Form.
