Sacrament preparation is partnered with Faith Formation. It meets September-April. Students must attend at least 2 consecutive years of faith formation as part of their sacrament preparation (some exceptions are made for High School juniors/seniors). At the beginning of year 2, in addition to to faith formation class, they attend an additional sacrament preparation class by age group (must be at least age 7). Sacrament classes meet approximately once a month. Reconciliation is celebrated in December prior to Confirmation and 1st Communion, which is celebrated in the spring. One absence is allowed. After the celebration of the sacraments, catechesis and ongoing conversion continues through continued participation in Faith First For Families and youth group.

First Reconciliation and First Communion Preparation
Grades 2-5
Sacrament preparation is a minimum of two years. Parents attend all sessions with their child.
- YEAR 1 = Faith First For Families
- YEAR 2 = Faith First For Families + First Reconciliation and First Communion Sacrament Preparation Class (and must be at least age 7).
- After the celebration of the sacraments, catechesis and ongoing conversion should continue up to 12 grade.

First Reconciliation and First Communion Preparation
Grades 6- 9
For older students in their 2nd year of Faith Formation who are preparing to receive 1st Reconciliation and 1st Communion. Sacrament preparation is a minimum of two years, as follows:
- YEAR 1 -- enrollment in Youth Group (attend at least 15 sessions) + 1 Retreat.
- YEAR 2 -- enrollment in Youth Group (15) + 1 Retreat + Sacrament Preparation (one absence allowed).
- Monthly youth-only meetings begin in September, plus additional parent and youth sessions throughout the year. See the Calendar for specific class dates and times, as they tend to change each year.
Parents attend with students; Youth Group calendar is published separately; retreat options* are listed here and additional options will be given by the Youth Minister.
SPANISH: Para los estudiantes mayores en su segundo año preparación sacramental de Primera Reconciliación y Primera Comunión, la preparación tiene un mínimo de dos años y se realiza de la siguiente manera:
- Año 1 – Inscribirse en el Grupo de Jóvenes (atender al menos a 15 secciones) + 1 Retiro.
- Año 2 – Inscribirse en el Grupo de Jóvenes (15) + 1 Retiro + Preparación de Sacramento (Solo se permite una ausencia).
Los padres atienden clase con el estudiante; el calendario del Grupo de Jóvenes se publica separadamente, la lista de retiros espirituales* y opciones adicionales son dadas a través d el Líder del Ministerio de Jóvenes.

Confirmation Preparation - Grades 9 & 10
For older students in their second year of Faith Formation (Youth Group) and have already received First Reconciliation and First Communion who are preparing for Confirmation.
- YEAR 1 = 9th Grade Youth Group with Retreats
- YEAR 2 = 10th Grade Youth Group with Retreats + Confirmation Preparation Class

Catholic School and Home-schooled Students who wish to receive Confirmation at St. Agnes Church, are required to attend sacrament classes only. (Their faith formation obligation is met through their school’s religion class.)
Parents of Non-Baptized school-aged children should make an appointment with the Director of Faith Formation before the deadline to formulate a specific plan for the sacramental needs of your family.

YOUTH GROUP
All 6-12 graders are highly encouraged to attend Youth Group regadless of sacraments received or yet to receive. Open to public school, private school, & home schooled youth. |
