First Reconciliation and First Communion Preparation
Grades 2-5
First Reconciliation/First Communion preparation is a minimum of two years. Parents attend all sessions with their children. Once absence from each class each year is permitted.
- YEAR 1 (1st Grade) = Faith First For Families
- YEAR 2 (2nd Grade & age 7) = Faith First For Families
+ First Reconciliation/First Communion Sacrament Preparation Class
- After the celebration of the sacraments, catechesis and ongoing conversion should continue up to grade 12.
First Reconciliation and First Communion Preparation
Grades 6- 9
For older students in their second year of Faith Formation (Youth Group) preparing for First Reconciliation and First Communion. One absence is allowed from sacrament class. Youth must attend at least 15 youth nights per year.
- YEAR 1 = Youth Group (weekly)
- YEAR 2 = Youth Group (weekly) + Sacrament Preparation Class (monthly)*
- After the celebration of the sacraments, catechesis and ongoing conversion should continue up to grade 12.
*Monthly youth-only Sacrament classes begin in September, plus additional parent and youth sessions throughout the year. Confirmation Preparation - Grade 10
For older students in their second year of Faith Formation (Youth Group) and have already received First Reconciliation and First Communion who are preparing for Confirmation. One absence is allowed from sacrament class. Youth must attend at least 15 youth nights per year.
- YEAR 1 (9th grade) = Youth Group (weekly)
- YEAR 2 (10th grade) = Youth Group (weekly) + Confirmation Preparation Class (monthly)*
- After the celebration of the sacraments, catechesis and ongoing conversion should continue up to grade 12.

Catholic School and Home-schooled Students who wish to receive Confirmation at St. Agnes Church, are required to attend sacrament classes only. (Their faith formation obligation is met through their school’s religion class.)
Non-Baptized grade-school-aged children should enroll in Faith Formation the first year. In year 2 they will enroll in the RCIA for children classes. They will receive all three Sacraments of Initiation at the Easter Vigil Mass, along with the adults in the RCIA program. First Reconciliation will be received in year 3. Please make an appointment with the Director of Faith Formation or RCIA Coordinator to make a three-year plan for your family.
YOUTH GROUP
All 6-12 graders are highly encouraged to attend Youth Group regardless of sacraments received or yet to receive. Open to public school, private school, & home schooled youth. Friends and visitors are always welcome to Youth Group, as well!
